We have been awarded a filtering grant from OPLIN, which will be used to install filtering software to patron use computers and laptops. Several candidates for the position of Clerk-Treasurer have been interviewed. The staff in-service day on September 29th was a great success. The staff learned to use the new telephone system, as well as a variety of other specialized training options. The new storage cabinets have been ordered and should be installed in mid November. On November 3, we will be hosting a Health Fair. A blood drive will be going on in the basement meeting room, while area health care professionals conduct screening on the first floor.

Mr. Smetana, Art Committee Chair, reported that on October 20 and continuing through November 26 the show Colors ~ World of Colors ~ Wearing the Colors will feature the multi-media paintings of Canton artist Isabel Zaldivar in the gallery, and the wearable fiber works of free-form knitting by former Canton resident Roslyn Rothenberg in the display cases.

Mrs. Zollinger, Budget and Finance Committee Chair, stated that preparations are underway for the 2007 Annual Appropriation.

Mr. Dansizen, Future Planning Committee Chair, reported that the committee is currently working on their focus areas, and will be consolidating their findings into a cohesive report by the end of the year.
