Calling You
by Otsu-ichi

I loved this book; it was very much like Yimou Zhang ("Curse of the Golden Flower," "House of Flying Daggers") because, like those movies, they have a tragic touch to their simple yet touching characters.

The reason that I loved this book, Calling You, with its three stories about life and its cruelty, is the mystery of love behind them all. For some reason, even though all of the stories are completely different of each other, you get a sense of faint connection between them all.

My favorite was Kiz/Kids. I loved the two characters. And it reminded me alot about my mentality, because I felt that the two really reflected how I was when I was their age. They're story is also my favorite because I love the way the author takes its direction. You always think he's going to just settle, and think its the end, and then, it isn't. This is a feat not many authors are good at or do.

I'd give it a read really. Like Kino no Tabi, it's a TokyoPop Light novel, and has more pictures. And if you didn't like Kino No Tabi, I think these stories can fit just about anyone, really.
