If you are curious about what other people are reading, or what they thought about a book you've read, check out the North Canton Public Library's new Reader-to-Reader Wiki.

What's a wiki, you ask?  A wiki is simply a website built by a  community of people.  Our wiki was designed so that you can find a good read, and share your reviews and opinions about it with others.

The Library's Working For You!

Like many other libraries across Ohio, the North Canton Public Library contracts with Unique Management Services, Inc. to recover non-returned library materials and unpaid fines.  Since 2004, the company has recovered more than $50,400 in materials and cash for the library.

Why is this necessary?

• Material that is not returned cannot always be replaced with our limited funds

• Items that are not returned, or are returned late are not available for you when you want them 

Fortunately, only a small percentage of library users do not return items as agreed.  We appreciate your cooperation in returning items on time! 

Beacon Journal Columnist & Author David Giffels to Speak

Most of us don't have the time or inclination to renovate any house, much less a dilapidated, gilded era mansion.  Nevertheless, we can appreciate what kind of undertaking this can be.  Similar to Tom Hanks in the movie, The Money Pit, Akron Beacon Journal columnist David Giffels did this, and wrote a book, All the Way Home:  Building a Family in a Falling-Down House about his experiences!

Mr. Giffels will be talking about his book at a buffet luncheon on Tuesday, June 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the North Canton Civic Center.  The cost of this special event is $15, and reservations are required.  Mr. Giffels will have copies of his book available for sale and autographing.
