Classes are held five times a year.
Eight week sessions are offered every fall, winter and spring,
while summer sessions have 6 class meetings.

Summer Art Classes

Session I meets July 11-July 28.

Registration Deadline: Tuesday, June 28th!

Session II meets August 1-August 18.

Registration Deadline: Tuesday, July 26th!

Register children in the grade they will be entering in the fall.

Students will be notified ONLY in the event of a class cancellation.
NO REFUNDS will be given for withdrawals or absences.

Children’s Classes

A variety of art will be explored with guidance in painting in various media, collage, printmaking and sketching. Explore art principles of form, design, color, line, pattern, composition and perspective based on the need and ability of each class.

Session I - July 11 through July 28

Preschool (Ages 4-5)
C-16 Monday & Wednesday, 9:15-10:15 PM
          Fee: $20

Kindergarten-2nd Grade
C-17 Tuesday & Thursday, 9:15-10:30 AM
          Fee: $22
          Instructor: Clare Aitken

3rd, 4th & 5th Grade
C-18 Tuesday & Thursday, 11:00-12:30 PM
          Fee: $24
          Instructor: Clare Aitken

Session II - August 1 through August 18

Adult workshops

High school students welcome in Adult workshops!

The Pour

Try your hand at an amazing new way to utilize translucent watercolors. Paint is mixed in large batches and poured onto watercolor paper through various 'filters' of tissue, coffee filters, cheese cloth, etc. The process is a bit messy, but a lot of fun! The results are like nothing you've seen with watercolor before!

Plein Air Painting

The ponds, trees and flowers at Rice's Nursery provide the beautiful setting for painting in watercolors. Instructor Nancy Stewart Matin will guide students in subject matter selection and composition. Bring your present supply of watercolor materials and join us for a serene afternoon of painting in natural light at the Nursery.
