Summer Reading Program

The North Canton Public Library is gearing up for its annual summer reading programs. This summer, special programming will be offered for children, young adults, and adults. All programs kick-off the first week of June.

2012 Children’s Program: Dream Big. Read.

A special Reading Record, which allows children to track their reading throughout the summer, will be available at the children’s desk on the second floor of the library. Children are eligible to earn prizes for the reading accomplishments they record. Additionally many specialized children’s programs will be offered from June through August.

2012 Teen Program: Own the Night.

The teen summer reading program is available to young adults entering grades six through twelve. The theme this year is "Own the Night," and participants can look forward to varied programming which is sure to include some astronomy activities. Teens who participate are eligible to enter to win prizes each time they read a book and complete a review form. Prize drawings are held each week, with the last drawing occurring Monday, Aug. 13. Prizes will also be awarded for most books read, best review, and other specialty categories.  In 2011, 62 teens participated and read a total of 256 books. Registration for the Teen Summer Reading Program begins Monday, June 4.

2012 Adult Program: Between the Covers.

This summer, we invite adult library patrons to check out what’s “Between the Covers” and enter to win various gift baskets and other fabulous prizes!  Similar to the teen program, participants in the program simply read books, complete brief review forms, and enter to win prizes.  Adult prize drawings will be held on Monday, August 6.
