Help with Common Problems:

  • Problem:  The wireless connection appears to be connected, but the login page is not displaying in web browser.
Possible Solutions:  Redirect your browser to http://192.168.1.40 for authentication.  If your home page is set to a secure site, you may need to redirect your browser to a non-secure site (for example:  http://www.ncantonlibrary.org ) in order to access the login page.

  • Problem:  The "Error" screen message displays when you attempt to log in.
Possible Solution:  Try re-entering your library card number and PIN.  If this does not solve the problem, go to the Patron Services Desk to have a staff member verify your PIN.

  • Problem:  Your connection is established, but not all internet utilities are available.
Possible Solutions:  The library uses a firewall to secure its network.  In doing so, some services and "ports" are blocked, which may prevent access to some services and sites.
Your personal firewall may be blocking your access to some utilities.  Be sure to check the settings.  If you turn off your personal firewall or make any changes, be sure to re-enable it before you leave.
